Rising trade exchanges with India significant goal of FM Zarif’s visit

Referring to the history of Iran-India political and economic relations in recent years, especially after Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Ali Chegini emphasized, 'The bilateral dimension of the visit is very important because a group of 70 members of chambers of commerce, important companies and businessmen will accompany FM to hold a business meeting.”

The Iranian ambassador to New Delhi noted that Zarif would hold a meeting with the elites and Indian scholars.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, heading a high-ranking delegation, left Tehran for New Delhi to attend annual international conference of the Raisina Dialogue on Monday.

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi said meeting Indian officials, participating in the joint trade conference between the two countries, attending and delivering a speech at the annual international conference of the Raisina Dialogue are on Zarif's itinerary.

According to India's media, meeting his Indian counterpart Sushma Swaraj, India's oil minister and India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi are other plans of Zarif's three-day trip to India.

According to the Indian media the trip is taking place while Delhi is attempting to balance the strategic relationship between Tehran and Washington.
