
He told IRNA that at 11:35 am auxiliary catalyst tank of the complex got fire, which came under control by work of firefighters within 45 minutes.
Faraji said that the complex has no problem now and the production process is underway.
He said the tank is made of aluminum so water and air should not reach this chemical compound.
Faraji added that experts are investigating the reasons for blaze in the tank and the result will be reported soon.
Talking to media, Director General of Khuzestan province Crisis Headquarters Kiomars Hajizadeh acknowledged control of fire in the complex.
He added that 9 persons have been injured in the incident, but fire is totally under control.
Rejal Petrochemical Complex is the first private unit in the zone.
The complex is producing 90,000 tons of polypropylene annually and its output capacity is due to increase as per development plan.
