PGSR gasoline production unit's 1st furnace on

Abbas Kazemi, managing director of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC), made the announcement on Wednesday on the occasion of the second day of the `Ten-Day Fajr' (Dawn).

The Ten-Day Fajr started in the country on February 1, the day when the late Imam Khomeini returned home from exile, then the 1979 Islamic Revolution emerged victorious on February 11. The first day of Ten-Day Fajr fell on January 31 this year.

After inauguration of the first phase of the gasoline production unit of the Persian Gulf Star Refinery by the end of March 20 and also when the new gasoline production project of the Bandar Abbas Oil Refining Company becomes operational, supply of Euro-4 petrol will double, Kazemi noted.

The official said the three phases of the Persian Gulf Star Refinery with the capacity of producing 36 million liters of gasoline a day will be inaugurated by the end (March 20, 2018) of the next Iranian calendar year of 1396 (to start on March 21).

The Persian Gulf Star Refinery is the biggest of refinery of its kind under construction in Persian Gulf and the Middle East.
