Pakistan inaugurates 5th new nuclear power plant

Constructed with the help of China near city of Mianwali, the C-4 plant has the capacity of generating 340MW of electricity.

With the inauguration of the new plant Pakistan’s total nuclear power capacity has reached upto 1400 MW.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony, the Prime Minister said that the project would help the country's energy problem.

He said Chashma nuclear power projects units, C-1, C-2 and C-3 have already been successfully contributing to the national grid, adding that two large nuclear power plants, K-2 and K-3, were also under construction that he hoped would be operational soon.

He said by the end of the years electricity load shedding will be completely finished.
