Minister: US exit from JCPOA not hindering rail contracts

He made the remarks in an inaugural ceremony for operating of electrifying railway between Garmsar and Inche Boroun on Monday afternoon.

Akhoundi said this is a good sign for firmness of JCPOA that in spite of US threats, Iran succeeded to begin 1.2 billion euro contract with Russia, one of the partners in JCPOA.

He said the route has 31 stations and 95 tunnels and it was supposed that construction work to start on July 2, 2018.

The length of route is 495 kilometers and speed of passenger trains will be doubled and cargo train increases four folded.

Akhundi said this project will have plenty of benefits for four provinces of Tehran, Semnan, Mazandaran and Golestan.
