Minister: Iran intends to use India’s experiences in information technology field

On the sidelines of the 106th session of the International Labor Organization meeting in Geneva, Switzerland, Ali Rabiei met with Minister of Labor and Employment of India Bandaru Dattatreya and discussed ways for joint cooperation between the two countries.

He expressed hope for more interaction and cooperation with India, and said that a draft memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been prepared concerning technical-vocational training , cooperatives, social insurances and retail businesses, which we hope they will be implemented with India's cooperation in the near future.

He pointed to last meeting between the two ministers of labor of Iran and India which took place 15 years ago, and said that considering common grounds for cooperation more dialogue and interaction should be useful.

Rabiei said that Iran had prepared a bill to create and support rural employment and 'we want to use India’s experiences in this concern'.

Bandaru Dattatreya, for his part, condemned terrorist attacks against Majlis (parliament) and Imam Khomeini Mausoleum last Wednesday (June 7) and said that India has always underlined on the creation of peace and friendship in the region.

He pointed to successful holding of Asia-Pacific Labor Ministers' meeting under the presidency of the Iranian labor minister, and said that 'I want to offer my congratulations to Iran' and Your Excellency for holding the meeting successfully.

Dattatreya said that Iran’s presidency on the meeting was effective and Iran's efforts over past one year to guide the meeting are praiseworthy.

Referring to common grounds for cooperation with Iran, the India’s minister expressed his country’s readiness to transfer its experiences in the fields of rural employment, IT and ICT to Iran.
