Mashad airport on global ranking list

General Director of Razavi Khorasan Airport Organization Mohammad Baqer Qasemzadeh told Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) that Mashad International Airport ranked 35th among 283 airports from across the world in 2016 through the survey conducted by the Airport Service Quality (ASQ).

Airport Service Quality (ASQ) is the renowned global benchmarking programme measuring passengers’ satisfaction whilst they are travelling through an airport, according to ASQ website.

The survey examined 30 factors, including transportation, internet and customer services, he said.

Following the survey and the required investigations by ASQ, the airport was registered in the list of the Canadian-based global organization.

Now, comparing the services given by Mashad airport and world's top airports and ranking it is possible, the official said.

'The ASQ programme provides the research tools and management information to better understand passengers’ views and what they want from an airport’s products and services,' its website says.

Mashad airport, also known as Shahid Hasheminejad International Airport, is Iran's second busiest airport in terms of traffic of planes. It manages 180 flights on average and the figure reaches 250 arrival and departure flights in high seasons.

Mashad is the provincial capital of Khorasan Razavi, in northeastern Iran.
