Speaking during a press conference, Masoud Polmeh said that due to the US threats, some foreign insurance companies offer their services just until the commercial ships enter the Iranian waters.
He said that with the experiences of the past sanctions on the country, two insurance companies located in Kish and Qeshm free trade zones render insurance services to Iranian commercial ships.
Some 33 percent of the costs of the ships are related to the fuel and they have to pay further tariffs when they enter the ports, the official said.
He said that in order to help boost the business of the Iranian ships, the government has to allocate subsidized fuel to them.
