Iranian companies urged to return to Kirkuk

Rakan Saeed al-Jabouri in a meeting with Iraj Masjedi, Iran's Ambassador to Baghdad, called on Iranian companies to return to the province to play their constructional and engineering roles in restoring sectors of power plants, as well as water and sewage in the province.

The two sides also discussed the latest developments in Iraq and the northern Iraqi province, and explored ways of cooperation in various fields.

Following the return of Iraqi federal forces and retreat of Kurdish Peshmerga from Kirkuk in October 2017, Baghdad has put a series of serious plans on its agenda for restoring security to have political and economic stability in the oil-rich, strategic province.
