UN gives Iran's Customs 8 sniffer dogs

World Customs Organization (WCO) in a report has ranked Iran as the country with the best performance in combating various crimes, including goods and traditional, industrial and psychotropic drugs smuggling, according to the Website of Iran's Customs Administration.

The eight sniffer dogs have been bought from a Dutch company by the UN agency.

The Dutch company has also sent three trainers to educate the Iranian trainers during a six-week course that is currently underway, according to the report.

Statistics show that Iran's Customs Administration officers managed to uncover 153 tons of illegal drugs and drugs precursors in the past Persian year beginning on March 21, 2017; the figure has soared by 600 percent this year.

Iran has also been ranked first for combating smuggling in Regional Intelligence Liaison Offices (RILO), a subsidiary of WCO, report in 2016 and 2017.
