Iran warns of politicizing global oil market

'The oil market should not be effected by politics… politicizing the oil market will harm both oil producing and consuming countries because it is an integrated market and harming a country will result in harming other countries,' Bijan Zangeneh told the Iranian reporters in New Delhi.

He described the prospect of Iran-India cooperation in energy field as positive and lauded the progresses made in development of Farzad B gas field in cooperation with the Indian companies.

Zangeneh arrived in the Indian capital early on Wednesday to take part in the 16th International Energy Forum (IEF).

During his day-long visit to New Delhi, Zangeneh is to attend IEF ministerial meeting, deliver a speech to the energy event and hold talks with his Indian counterpart.

IEF is the biggest energy gathering being held biennially and Iran is its active member.

The IEF 2018, which is to start with an speech by the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is being held in New Delhi from April 10-12.

According to ief.org, the 16th International Energy Forum Ministerial (IEF16) gathers IEF Energy Ministers, industry leaders, and heads of key international organizations to debate the future of global energy security under the theme 'The Future of Global Energy Security: Transition, Technology, Trade and Investment.'
