Iran-Uzbekistan economic commission opens

The commission began its work this morning in the presence of Iran's Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade Mohammad Shariatmadari and the Uzbek First Deputy Prime Minister Achilbay Ramatov.

In the meeting, representatives of various public and private sections of the two countries will discuss the ways of promoting economic and trade cooperation, particularly in transportation, customs, investments, sports, tourism, culture, standards, industry and communications.

Signing a number of economic cooperation agreements is also on the agenda of the commission.

Pistachio, petrochemicals, tea, and zinc ore are among the main exports from Iran to Uzbekistan.
