
Akhoundi said that he assigned Iran's Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization to probe the crimes against Iranian trucks in Turkey and lodge complaint with the Turkish government and the Turkish Justice system.
He said that the Turkish government promised Iranian authorities to hold inquiry about the crimes being perpetrated against Iranian lorry drivers on the Turkish territory by the lawless individuals.
Iranian government sought legal action to be taken by the Turkish government for the damages inflicted on Iranian truck drivers on the Turkish territory.
Meanwhile, Head of the Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization Davood Keshavarzian said that over the past one year, Iranian trucks and lorry drivers were subject to many attacks in Turkish soil and based on Turkish law, compensations must be paid upon complaints lodged with the Turkish Justice system.
'Iran holds the Turkish government accountable for security of Iranian nationals and lorries and expects the Ankara government to respect its commitment to safety of the foreign nationals and their property.'
Thus far, 15 Iranian trucks and their cargo have been set ablaze by lawless individuals in Turkey.
