Iran, Russia keen on boosting cooperation in Armenia

Seyyed Kazem Sajjadi and his Russian counterpart Ivan Volynkin discussed areas of cooperation between Iran and Eurasian Economic Union on Wednesday.

They also stressed the need for using the interests of the cooperation to the advantage of member-states of the Eurasian Economic Union, including Iran and Armenia.

Armenia is a country in the South Caucasus region of Eurasia. Located in Western Asia on the Armenian Highlands, it is bordered by Turkey to the west, Georgia to the north and Azerbaijan to the east, and Iran and Azerbaijan's exclave of Nakhchivan to the south. It gained independence in 1991 after Soviet Union collapsed.
