Calligraphy, painting exhibition of Iranian artist at Astana

Diplomats, ambassadors, officials, artists, orientalogists and Kazakh Iranologists were present in the ceremony, in which the Iranian ambassador to the Republic of Kazakhstan Majid Saber in a speech pointed to the long history of calligraphy in Iran.

He referred to beautiful works of Iranian calligraphy art in all around the world.

Saber said, “Today, Iranian calligraphy works are seen in many historical mosques, tombstones, castles and palaces in the Indian subcontinent, Caucasus, Central Asia, Anatolia, North Africa and elsewhere.”

Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, referring to the existence of poems of famous poets of Iran, as well as the beautiful works of Iranian calligraphy in some of the historical works of Kazakhstan, in particular the tomb of Kazakhstani renowned Khajeh Ahmad Yasawi, reveals the existence of old friendship between Iranians and Kazakhs.
