Referring to the baking problems that have been arisen since the anti-Iran sanctions era, the diplomatic mission announced in a statement that resolving banking problems are among priorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran's embassy in Beijing, and the they have been discussed by Iranian officials in talks with their Chinese counterparts.
The statement was issued in response to the escalated problems faced by a number of the Iranian citizens for opening bank accounts with some main Chinese banks, including the ABC and ICBC.
The issue is also being pursued by senior Iranian banking officials, added the embassy statement.
However, the Chinese officials have said that the problems are not only related to the Iranian citizens, and the main reasons have been the strict regulations by Chinese banks to fight money laundering, implementing the instructions issued by Financial Action Task Force (FATF), and efforts to observe the transparency in banking documents.
