Iran-China trade exchanges up 30 percent: Envoy

Talking to reporters on Friday, Ali-Asghar Khaji described economic ties between Iran and China as positive.

Relations between the two countries are on the rise in all areas, Khaji said, reiterating that officials in Tehran and Beijing hold regular meetings to address mutual, regional and international issues.

According to the Iranian envoy, trade exchanges between Iran and China reached 18.07 billion dollars in the first half of 2017, showing a four-billion-dollar increase compared to the same period previous year.

Khaji described China as Iran's first trade partner and the biggest buyer of the country's oil and its non-oil products.

Iran is currently the sixth major oil supplier to China.
