Peyman Salehi, Iran's vice president for science and technology affairs, is chairing the second session of the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) Committee on Information and Communications Technology, Science, Technology and Innovation which has been holding in the Thai capital city since August 29 for three days.
The UN ESCAP committee has a duty to review issues related to modern technologies in line with enhancing cooperation to achieve the goals of sustainable development project.
Then, the committee is to present the strategies for the goals to ESCAP for final approval.
Established in 1947, the United Nations ESCAP with 53 members plans to counter the challenges the countries in Asia and Pacific face.
