Speaking in a press conference attended by several officials in Isfahan, Alireza Rezadad said, most of children’s movies enjoy fascinating feature theme, underlying that the festival is seeking to make the youth familiar with the international cinema.
Commenting on cooperation of this prestigious global gathering with the United Nation Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Rezadad added this international organization provides educational programs for the festival.
He said for instance the UNICEF will financially support part of the expenses for the applicants and accepted nominees at the second Youth Filmmaking Olympiad in Iran, adding that the move is part of cooperation between the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and the UNICEF.
He underlined that this festival is highly welcomed among the domestic and international film makers.
Rezadad said five workshops would be held in the international sections of the festival which would mainly focus on safeguarding children's psychological security.
He said selected films of France International Film Festival (Festimaj), Berlin International Short Film Festival (Interfilm) and a pair of Japanese filmmaker and artist Hayao Miyazaki's animations will be screened in festival.
The 31st edition of the International Film Festival for Children and Youth is held in Isfahan Province from August 30-September 5.
