Iran, Afghanistan hold cooperation committee meeting

The meeting was co-chaired by Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and Deputy of Afghanistan's National Security Advisor's Office Yama Karzai.

The two sides discussed the problems and threats facing the region and the ways to counter the existing threats particularly those related to fight against terrorism and drug trafficking.

They also underlined the need for more consultations between the security officials of Iran and Afghanistan to fight terrorism, bring into control joint borders and to counter drug trafficking and organized crimes.
