India planning to raise LP gas imports from Iran

Based on the agreement, the state-owned Indian oil companies are planning to import 44,000 tons of Iranian LPG every month within a period of six months, informed sources affiliated with India’s f Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas said on Friday.

To meet its domestic demands, India, reportedly, imports one million tons of liquefied petroleum gas each month from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.

The country is expected to boost its LPG imports next year to 16-17 million tons, as New Delhi is intended to replace polluting fuels with LPG.
With a massive growing population, India needs to increase its imports of petroleum and natural gas to quench its thirst for energy.
