The figure is equivalent to over one million tons of products, constituting half of the province’s exports, said Khalil Qassemi in an interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

The major part of the exports was destined to Thailand, Brazil, Indonesia, China, and Italy, he added.

Hormozgan Province is expected to experience three billion dollars of non-oil exports by the yearend.

With three steel manufacturing companies and the capacity of producing over five million tons of steel, Hormozgan is the third major producer of steel in the country.
