Grounds prepared for Iran to play major role in Silk Road

Iran should adopt the policy of attracting investments and creating jobs inside the country, Amir Ahmadian said in an exclusive interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

China aims to continue its ties with Asia and Europe through Silk Road, if the US and its allies tend to create obstacle and limitations on China's energy and raw material imports and its export of goods, he said.

In the China's new initiative 'One Belt, One Road', a branch of the ancient road from China runs through Central Asia and then into Iran and from here it goes to the northwest, Turkey and Europe with Iran being the connecting point of Europe, Asia and China, he added.

If Iran can plays role in this regards, some of the goods destined for Europe from China will enter Iran in the form of semi-finished products, the Iranian expert said.

China takes advantage of human resources, energy and talents in Iran to make some of the goods in the country, he said adding that this process and exports will create employment in the industrial sector particularly the processing industry.

Thanks to the presence of skilled and educated manpower in Iran, grounds have been prepared for this purpose, he noted.

Regarding the availability of energy and road, air and sea transportation networks, Iran is very ideal country, Amir Ahmadian said.

He went on to say that Iran is a big country and a regional power.

China is after increasing its influence in Asia, he said adding that Iran should take advantage of this opportunity for interactions with China if the latter meets its interests.
