'The exports from the border market showed 250 percent increase in terms off wheight compared to last year's,' Acting Governor of Gilan-Gharb Farhad Hemmati said in an interview with Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).
The exports, including new items such as rugs, decorative accessories, food products, fruit juice and cement, have been transferred to Iraq by trucks.
The border market was opened in April 2015 in a ceremony attended by Iranian and Iraqi officials.
Sumar is a town in the western Kermanshah Province of Iran. It is home to about 20,000 people.
