Exports from Isfahan up by 24%

He said in the five-month period, 883 items weighing 2.198 million tons were exported to 93 countries.

The exported goods were worth 925.341 million dollars. The figure registered a percent rise in weight and a 50 percent increase in value compared to the corresponding period last year.

He said that the exported goods included steel worth 346 million dollars, petrochemicals worth 176 million dollars, carpets worth 92 million dollars. The main importers of the exported goods were Iraq with 233 million dollars or 25 percent, Afghanistan with 142 million dollars or 15 percent, the United Arab Emirates with 116 million dollars or 13 percent, and Pakistan with 83 million dollars or 9 percent.

Vanhari said 25,361 tons of commodities valued at 120.611 million dollars were imported to Isfahan in the same period, showing a 35 percent decrease in weight and 33 percent in value in comparison with the same period last year.

The most important goods imported to the province were mechanical machinery with 38 percent, electrical machinery with 15 percent and auto spare parts with 6 percent.
