Envoy: EU trying to maintain financial channels with Iran

He made the remarks during visit of Yazd province Investment Service Center.

Scholz said the aim of his visit to Iran's provinces is to show determination by the EU and Austria to continue cooperation with Iran, adding that given to implementation of the JCPOA content by Iran, they deserve to use its interests.

He pointed out that EU and Austria are ready to help Iran pass through current sanction situation, and said that although Austria is a small country and is not able to cooperate with Iran in all fields, but given Austria's capability in manpower, the European country may invest in two or three fields in Yazd.

Scholz called solar and new energies, dynamic and modern tourism industry and suitable methods to use water as three axes for investment in Iran and Yazd province and said that 97 percent of Austrian companies are small or medium sizes, which may be effective in Iran's development and growth.

Austrian embassy's Commercial Attaché in Iran Christophe Grabmayr also said during the meeting that economic activities in Iranian market is attractive, adding that current situation is temporary, so the two sides should take firm steps for future.

Considering natural capacities of Yazd province in renewable and solar energies accompanes with desirable public supports and modern investment regulations, Austria had successful experiences in Yazd and it may continue its work in the field of transferring water in the province.

Austria with population of around 9 million and economic growth of 3.03 percent is located in the middle of central Europe and is a progressive state with several international organizations bureaus in Vienna.
