Czech official calls for removal of Tehran-Prague banking problems

Minar who is heading a commercial delegation in Tehran added in a meeting with his Iranian counterpart that international sanctions against Iran adversely affected bilateral banking relations, which requires taking steps to solve banking problems.

Energy, mines, foodstuffs and pharmaceuticals are among suitable areas of cooperation between Iran and Czech Repulic, he said, hoping that collaboration in the fields would further improve.

Vice Chairman of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture Pedram Soltani, for his part, said that trade relations have had an upward trend over the past three years.

Of course, Iran’s exports to Czech Republic fell and imports from it increased, as the Iranian exporters faced certain problems, he said.

“Establishment of a joint Iran-Czech Committee in near future with an aim of forging regular trade communications based on mutual interests will create a bridge among the businessmen,” Soltani said.
He called on Czech chamber of commerce to examine the surge in tariffs on dried fruits exports to facilitate exports from Iran to the country.

Representatives of ten Czech companies involved in pharmaceuticals, banking, transportation, construction, gas, holding exhibitions, machinery and power plants are currently in Iran. They attended Iran-Czech Conference Tuesday morning.
