The number of Azerbaijani citizens visiting Iran in the first six-month period of this year has increased by 22.8 percent compared to the same time last year, Azertac news agency quoted Azerbaijan's State Statistics Committee.

The number of Azerbaijani citizens traveling abroad in the first half of 2018 saw a 6.3 percent increase, the report said.

Of the total number of Azerbaijani citizens who visited foreign countries, 30.7 percent visited Georgia, 28.7 percent Iran, 21.2 percent Russia, 12.7 percent Turkey, 1.7 percent Ukraine, 1.2 percent the UAE, 3.8 percent visited other countries.
