Addressing a ceremony to commemorate the birthday anniversary of the first Shiite Imam Ali (AS), Hossein Molla Abdollahi described relations between two countries as warm, friendly and active.
He added that despite obstacles, the volume of trade exchange showed significant increase during the last Iranian calendar year (ended on March 21).
He also urged Iranian nationals including businessmen, merchants and students to get familiar with trade capacities between two countries and encourage businessmen for more cooperation and investment.
Molla Abdollahi expressed readiness for presenting consular services and defending Iranians’ rights.
He described Nowruz which marks the beginning of new Iranian calendar year (falling on March 21) as a culture shared with many countries including Iran, Turkey, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Central Asian countries and Caucasus saying it will reinforce cultural relations.
Ties between Iran and Serbia has significantly grown in the past years. The two countries now enjoy very amicable and strong relations. Serbian has supported Iran's positions regarding the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
Earlier in an exclusive interview with IRNA, Serbian Ambassador in Tehran Dragan Todorovic ruled out using sanctions as a proper solution for problems, saying only talks will work.
'Sanctions are not a proper way for anything, sanctions cannot resolve any problem,' he said.
'Problems could be resolved only by talks and negotiations and by trying to find measures to improve economy,' he added while recalling a time when during the 1990s hyperinflation in Yugoslavia people suffered the most as the country was under sanctions.
