Hussein Asghari added, 'Most of the exports of vegetable and cucurbits were sent to the neighboring countries and Russia which have been increasing, as compared to last year; the volume of vegetable and cucurbits exports in 2017 was about 2.9 million tons.

He stated that 65 to 70 percent of the seeds needed for vegetable and cucurbits are produced inside the country, saying that the total annual requirement of vegetable and cucurbits seeds other than potatoes is about 4,000 to 4,500, and for the production of potatoes we also need 500,000 tons of seed annually.
