Sharif university-African Union to develop ties

Commissioner of the Human Resources, Science and Technology of African Union Sarah Anyang Agbor referred to developing science and technology as one the priorities for the African Union.

She expressed hope for having active cooperation with Iranian universities.

Developing educational and research cooperation and taking advantage of capacities were among topics discussed during the meeting.

The African delegation visited nano technology research center.

Earlier, The AU commissioner has also met with Iran's First Deputy Minister of Science Hossein Salar-Amoli, and discussed the ways for broadening cooperation between Iran and Africa.

Referring to the AU 2063 Agenda, she called on Iran to play a bigger role in the continent with a focus on nanotechnology, biotechnology and IT.
