
The opening ceremony of the event was held with the attendance of President of World Crafts Council - Asia Pacific Region Ghada Hijjawi-Qaddumi and a group of handicrafts artists.
The office aims at developing handicrafts, taking advantage of the World Crafts Council’s facilities, participating in seminars and international conferences.
Qaddumi pointed to opening of the office as a valuable act, expressing hope for establishing cooperation with 5 other regions in Asia.
Regarding efforts by Iran and Oman in opening of the office, she said that both countries play crucial role in reinforcing handicrafts in Western Asia.
“Inaugurating this office will result in having cooperation in launching Western Asia website, exchanging experts and holding training courses,” she added.
