US attack on Syria, sheer violation of territorial integrity: Pak Politician

In an interview with IRNA, Syed Tahir Hussain Mashhadi said that the US has no right to attack a country on baseless allegations.

The US in coordination with Britain and France targeted some research and military sites in Syria, including its capital city, Damascus. The US claims that the attack was a response to an alleged chemical weapons attack near Damascus.

Tahir Hussain Mashhadi expressing his views said this attack is against all norms of international law, international behavior and basic fundamental rights. “This action was taken against the sovereignty of Syria which violates all international treaties,” he noted.

The former Senator added that this action was taken to change the government in Syria which is banned according to charter of the United Nations.

He went on to say that this action took place on baseless allegations rather these allegations were proved to be false. “They took action in Iraq on false allegations to loot the Iraqi oil, and then they attacked Libya to loot the Libyan oil,” he said.

He added that Americans show that they are very concerned about the human rights but what actually they are doing in Syria; they are attacking the country and killing innocent civilians.

“They are doing genocide in Syria, this is genocide of the people of poor country by a rich country, this is just a power game, this is money game and violation of all international laws,” the politician said.

Tahir Hussain Mashhadi praised the role of Iran in Syria said that the Islamic Republic is standing by the poor people of Syria and is trying all out efforts to bring peace in Syria. “Iran has always supported oppressed nations in the world,” he said.

He said that the international community must take notice of these violations by the US in Syria which is the height of imperialism.
