“Professor Mahdian and his team, based in UK, will come to Iran late summer,” said Treatment and Rehabilitation General Director of Iran’s Martyrs and Veterans Affairs Foundation Amir Karimi.

There are more than 574,101 disabled war veterans with different disability rates in Iran.

The Iran-Iraq war started in 1980 with the West-backed Saddam Hussein’s invasion. The European-provided arms and chemical agents of Iraq killed and injured hundreds of thousands, while Iraq was supported by the ex- Soviet-led East bloc as well.
