'The Salesman' shines in Munich Film Festival

Established in 1983, the festival is the main summer film festival with over 65,000 admissions every year.

Opened on June 23, the 34th edition of the festival wrapped up on July 2 in Munich.

The Salesman portrays Ra’ana (Iranian actress Taraneh Alidousti) and Emad (Hosseini), as a couple who are part-time actors playing in the Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller as Linda and Willy.

It is an Iranian version of Miller’s Death of a Salesman. The film explores the themes of marriage, privacy, suspicion, revenge, honor and violence.

The film was first screened in 2016 Cannes Festival. Shahab Hosseini and Farhadi won Palm d'Ore for best actor and best screenplay respectively.
