Tehran municipality, WAMM sign cooperation agreement

The agreement was signed by Tehran Mayor Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf and Mayor of Montreal Denis Coderre.
The agreement envisions share of experience by the metropolises in the fields of public transportation, urban infrastructures, technical, cultural, social and urban economy.
Qalibaf told reporters that challenges of major metropolises are similar to each other and added that the agreement will prepare opportunity for more cooperation.
Referring to Metropolis Congress in Bogota, capital of Columbia, in October 12, 2016, Qalibaf said, 'We are pleased to host head of the association in Tehran.'
The World Association of the Major Metropolises is an international non-governmental institute.
The association is affiliated to United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) Organization.
The association initiated by Paris Municipality in 1984 and started to work in Montreal, Canada, in 1985.
Tehran municipality became member of the association in 1992 and now Mashad and Tabriz are also members of the association.
