Sung Ho described the underground city which is considered one of the masterpieces of ancient architecture as unique and surprising.
'Noushabad is a city with a rich cultural heritage,' he said.
I will do my best, and I feel responsible, to introduce Iran's tourist attractions, including the underground city of Noushabad to the world, the South Korean envoy said.
Sung Ho also praised Iranian authorities for unearthing and preserving the precious and unique ancient site.
Zahra Saroukhani, Director of the Noushbad historical site, for her part, said that plans are underway to accommodate thousands of foreign and domestic tourists each day to visit the city.
There are three levels in this underground city and it is considered the biggest underground space in the world carved by man in ancient times.
The depth of this underground city varies from 4 to 18 meters and the different spaces formed by carving the rocks seem a little scary.
The city was unearthed in 2004.
