Pre-historic sites identified in western Iran

According to the Public Relations Office of the Research Institute of Cultural Heritage and Tourism (RICHT), head of the archaeological team Rezaqoli Jahansooz said the program for the survey and identification of historical monuments in the city of Romashkan is still underway in an effort to prepare the archeological map of the country.

As regard the location of Romashkan so far diversified cultures, including Uruk, Gyan, Suzyana as well as cultures of the Historic era have been identified and are under survey, he said.

Jahansooz went on to say that in the studies conducted in the city of Romashkan so far three aqueducts as well as remains of several ditches, historic bridges, castles, penthouses, tombs and temples and also two historic stone paved paths for the traffic of chariots have been identified to which a number of caves and rock shelters have been added.
