Warrant officer Fardin Sanjari was martyred and Captain Behzadpour was injured in a conflict with smugglers, Head of Jiroft governorate security committee Ahmad Amini Ravesh told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

Over 500kg of opium and a car were confiscated in the operation, he said.

Meanwhile, Jiroft prosecutor said that two outlaws were arrested in connection with the accident.

Jiroft City is located 230 kilometers south of the city of Kerman, and 1,375 kilometers south of Tehran.
