Persian language key role in boosting Iran-Pak ties discussed in Rawalpindi

The seminar was held in the memory of creator of ‘Shahnameh’ (The Book of Kings) and great Iranian poet Abulqasem Ferdowsi.

The association of Persian language graduates in Pakistan played a key role in organizing the seminar.

Director of Khana-e-Farhang Ali Aqa Noori, Chairman National Language Authority, Iftikhar Hussain Arif and Head of Persian Department at National University of Modern Languages (NUML), Professor Mohammad Safeer were also present on the occasion.

The event was attended by scholars, Persian language experts, cultural personalities, teachers and students. The experts during the seminar read different articles about the importance of Persian language in Pakistan.

Addressing the ceremony, director of Khana-e-Farhang stressed the need to promote Persian language in Pakistan.

He said that Persian language is a common heritage of Iran and Pakistan which can play a vital role in bringing the two countries closer.

It is pertinent to mention that Persian language is known as the mother of Urdu language and it has remained official language of the sub-continent for centuries.
