Pakistan’s national flag carrier launches ‘Air Safari’ flight

Pakistan is host to three of the world's biggest and most spectacular mountain ranges, the Himalaya, the Karakoram and the Hindukush.

These magnificent mountain ranges are also home to one of the densest collection of highest and most precipitous mountain peaks in the world. These include five, out of the total fourteen, above 8,000 meter high peaks in the world, including the second highest mountain peak K-2 (8,611m).

Nevertheless these mountain ranges also host more than 100 peaks above 7,000 meters and around 700 peaks above 6,000 meters.

The first flight of Air Safari was operated from Islamabad on July 16 using Airbus 320 aircraft. The flight took the passengers to see the world's highest peaks, including K2, Gasherbrum I and II, Broadpeak, the valleys, lakes and glaciers.

The Air Safari will operate from Islamabad every Saturday and Sunday. It is a little over an hour flight from Islamabad to Skardu.

The flight could attract tourists from all around the world and can contribute a lot to enhance the tourism industry of Pakistan.

It is pertinent to mention that the flights to Pakistan’s northern areas are subject to weather; therefore, no hotel accommodation is given as a result of the delay/cancellation of the flights.
