Oman hails Iran's cinema

The king's advisor said in a meeting with Iran's Ambassador to Muscat Hojatoleslam Nouri Shahroudi on Tuesday.

The Islamic Republic of Iran recently showed a series of Iranian-made movies in a film festival in Muscat during which an Iranian film Director Dariush Mehrjooei received a memorial plaque of honor.

In the meeting, Iran's ambassador underlined the need to further bolster and broaden cultural cooperation between the two sides mainly in cultural fields and proposed setting up cultural week to help understand each other's culture and history which was welcomed by the cultural advisor of Omani's Sultan.

Muscat film festival themed 'Cinema brings us closer' was held in the capital city of Muscat.

Over 100 films from different countries were hailed in the film festival.
