Official: Iran, Brazil to share findings in cognitive sciences

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Headquarters for Developing Cognitive Sciences and Technologies and Brazilian Federal Agency for the Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education (CAPES), he said that further boosting of cooperation between the two countries’ universities and researchers as well as undertaking joint research projects are among the main objectives of the agreement.

As per the agreement, they will also exchange students and instructors, take part in scientific conferences on cognitive sciences and technologies.

Iran and Brazil are among the developing countries which have made remarkable progress in the field of cognitive sciences and technology.

Like the other agreements, the MoU is considered a foundation for scientific and research cooperation, Kharrazi said.

Asked which Iranian universities are involved in Iran-Brazil joint projects, he said that University of Tehran and Research Center for Cognitive Sciences are among the institutes launched projects with Sao Paulo Research Foundation, but Shahid Beheshti University and Sharif University of Technology are engaged in cooperation with Brazilian universities.

The second memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Headquarters for Developing Cognitive Sciences and Technologies and Brazilian Federal Agency for the Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education (CAPES) was signed late on Wednesday to help promote cooperation between the Iranian and Brazilian scientific centers.
