Official: High speed caused German tourists' bus to overturn

Pointing to the accident of a bus carrying 18 German tourists on Saadat Shahr-Abadeh road in Fars Province, on Monday evening, Brigadier General Nader Rahmani added that the car crash claimed the lives of two passengers and injured 10 others.

He also declared that exceeding the speed limit on a road which was slippery due to rain as the cause of the accident.

16 injured passengers, the Iranian driver and the tour leader were transferred to Marvdasht hospital in ambulances.

Meanwhile, Deputy Head of Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization Morteza Rahmani Movahed ordered thorough investigation of the incident.

He also expressed his sorrow on the incident, and extended condolences to the families of the two German tourists killed in the accident.

Movahed Rahmani ordered General Supervisory Office of the organization to have the incident inspected by experts in order to decide on the liabilites of the company in charge of the tour.
