Numerous capacities for Iran-Belgium cooperation: Belgian official

'Our today's meeting was a step for opening the cooperation chapter between Iran and Belgium,' Karine Moykens said on the sidelines of a joint meeting between healthcare sectors of the two countries on Wednesday evening.

Building hospitals and establishing research and medical technology centers as well as student exchange programs are among the spheres the two countries can cooperate, she said.

Iranian Health Minister Seyyed Hassan Qazizadeh Hashemi, heading a delegation, arrived in Brussels on Monday evening, to talk with Belgian officials and those of the European Union.

Some memoranda of understanding (MoUs) on information technologies and medical equipment have been signed between the Iranian and Belgian firms in a trade conference on healthcare sectors on Wednesday.

One of the MoUs signed between the two countries is on softwares used for cancer screening.
