Nakhchivan sympathizing on Plasco tragedy

According to Iran’s Consulate General in Nakhchivan, High Parliament Speaker, Vasif Talebov, in a message of condolence to Foreign Minister, Mohammad-Javad Zarif, said, “I express condolences to the Iranian nation and bereaved families over loss of life in Plasco incident.”

Deputy Minister for Natural Disasters, Nourlan Hassanov, also attended Iran’s Embassy to Nakhchivan and expressed grief over the bitter event.

Plasco Trade Center, the 17-storey building, collapsed on January 19, while a number of firefighters were inside the building to rescue those trapped in the huge fire.

Plasco, built in 1962, was the first high-rise building in the Iranian capital.

Bodies of 15 firefighters were recovered during debris removal operations and one firefighter succumbed to injuries in the hospital.
