
The event is co-organized by the Mustafa Science and Technology Foundation (MSTF) and Sultan Qaboos University.
Over 60 renowned scientists from 16 countries will gather under one roof on December 3 to discuss
issues such as health, energy, and water.
In this round of STEP summit, Mustafa(pbuh) Prize laureates such as Jackie Ying, Prof. Erol Gelenbe and Prof. Mohammad Amin Shokrollahi will participate.
On the sidelines of the international gathering, three major events will also be held.
*2018 KANS Scientific Competition
This competition has been staged with the aim of bouncing ideas around in academic community to address the problems of the Islamic world in areas of water and environment, energy, health, information technology, and economics. Students, researchers, and professors from universities and scientific centers (less than 45 years of age) all over the world can submit their scientific-technological ideas and achievements to the Mustafa Prize Science and Technology Foundation (MSTF) in form of video clips or scientific papers.
*2-Month Sabbaticals
In order to enhance the scientific level of university students in Islamic countries, and to create opportunities to gain new experiences in international scale, using the Islamic world’s capacities, the Mustafa(pbuh) Science and Technology Foundation (MSTF) and NanoBio Lab in Singapore are offering five 2-month sabbaticals to students of Islamic countries, under supervision of Prof. Jackie Ying, the 2015 Mustafa(pbuh) Prize Laureate, so as to augment their abilities in this advanced Lab. Terms of participation in this course can be found attached. The applicants need to submit their documents to the address mentioned in the Call, before 10 June 2018.
*Exposure of Industries to Scientists’ Achievements (EISA)
EISA is a platform developed to meet the needs of a certain group of scientific community and academia to promote their achievements in form of technological products and services to new markets, focusing on Islamic world.
The fourth round of STEP will be held jointly by the MSTF and Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) in Muscat.
STEP was launched in 2015 by the MSTF as part of plans to create a network for Muslim scientists with the goal of promoting science and technology in the Muslim world. Previous rounds of STEP were held in Malaysia and Iran.
