Ministry of Culture congratulates Kalhor for shining at Grammy

In a message, Head of the Music Office of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance Farzad Talebi wished health and success for Kalhor.
Kalhor, 53, is a composer and master of classical Kurdish and Iranian traditional music who plays Kamancheh, an Iranian bowed string instrument, in the ensemble.

The group’s album, ‘Sing Me Home’, wins Grammy for the Best World Music Album, during the 59th annual Grammy Awards ceremony held Sunday, 12 February, 2017 at the Staples Center in Los Angele during which top musical works in the past year were praised and awarded.

International collective ensemble Silk Road was established in 2000 by Cello virtuoso Yo-Yo Ma and is composed of musicians from various nationalities and masters of various musical instruments.
