Mild quake jolts western Iran, no injuries

It was felt in Iraq and near Iran's border region of Qasr-e Shirin at 2:32 pm local time (11:02 am GMT) at 45.31 degrees longitude and 34.4 degrees latitude, at a depth of 13 km, according to Tehran University's Geophysics Institute.

There has been no report on the possible damages.

Deputy Governor of Qasr-e Shirin Nematollah Nazparvardeh said, 'Assessment teams are present in the region, and the disaster management teams are on full alert to give services to the affected people in case of any incident.'

A 7.3-magnitude quake hit Ezgeleh in Kermanshah Province on November 12. Some 620 people were killed and more than 12,000 others were injured in the disaster.
