Mexicans welcome Iran New Year at nat’l arts museum

At the opening ceremony of the event organized by Iran Embassy in Mexico City, Iranian envoy Mohammad Taqi Hosseini said that Norouz conveys various messages, the most important of which is offering peace and friendship.

He pointed to the necessity of recognizing and respecting the diversity of cultures, saying 'Norouz is the best manifestation of respect for cultural diversity.'

Our world will be prettier with different cultures, traditions and religions, he added.

Meanwhile, Curator of the museum Gloria Overtis expressed her happiness over hosting of the Norouz celebration, saying
Iran’s culture enjoys magnificent beauties.

Today, Mexican youths are willing to know about Iran civilization, she said.

Norouz is celebrated as the first day of the Persian year (March 21). The tradition which is originated from the ancient Iran is also celebrated in some other countries.
